American Bar Association and Partners Launch TrialWatch

An attorney with more than 30 years of experience, Gordon Burrows operates his legal firm, furnishing family and matrimonial law litigation in White Plains, New York. To better serve his clients, Gordon Burrows maintains membership to multiple industry organizations, including the American Bar Association.

Last April 25, 2019, the American Bar Association (ABA) announced the launch of TrialWatch, a program that monitors and reacts to trials suspected of committing human rights violations around the world. TrialWatch was made possible through the partnership among the ABA, the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Columbia Law School, Microsoft Corporation, and the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ).

TrialWatch will expand the efforts of the ABA Center for Human Rights (CHR), which has been actively tracking criminal trials of religious minorities, women and girls, LGBTQ individuals, human rights defenders, and journalists in countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Cambodia, Colombia, Bangladesh, Guatemala, Iraq, and Angola. TrialWatch will bring innovative procedures to standardize the trial monitoring process.
